Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Tag Team PSP

Here's a riddle to get us started. Question: How many Dragon Ball Z characters does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Give up? Answer: Just one, but it takes him nine episodes. Ha ha. Anyway, the Dragon Ball franchise's popularity affords it at least one new game per year, often more than that, and the latest in the long line is Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team for Sony's PSP. This portable fighter, in an obvious effort to be different than the countless DBZ fighters before it, gives fans something not seen in a Dragon Ball title since the import-only Super Famicom days, the ability to control more than one warrior in 1-on-1, 2-on-1 or 2-on-2 battles. But does this mechanic make Tenkaichi Tag Team worth your gaming dollars? Gaming dollars that could be spent on any number of older, cheaper DBZ titles? And does it set itself apart from the two previous and stunningly similar PSP DBZ fighters?
If you are familiar with the Dragon Ball Z storyline, you won't find anything new in the progression through this game's plot-driven single player mode. It covers the entirety of the DBZ anime, from Raditz's arrival on earth to the defeat of Kid Buu, which is nice, but don't expect any new plot elements to be revealed in the game. It might not be fresh material, but it is presented well. The game bridges the gaps between fights with a top down view of the planet, where you can move a chibi-style character between points of interest. This allows for some exploration between fights, where you can take on mini-missions for characters found on the map. For example, in one of the first maps, a character asks you to locate a capsule he lost. You can find it and bring it back to complete one of the stage's multiple objectives. Other objectives include winning fights with different partners, locating key objects, fighting optional monsters, etc. It's a simple, one-dimensional system, but it adds variety to the same old fight after fight progression found in most other games of this type. This is not to say the fights are boring, though; but we'll get to that.

god of war ghost of sparta Psp

Kratos might possibly be the angriest game character ever created. We all know he accidently killed his wife and child in service to the gods, but his belligerent attitude has often made me wonder what else might have happened to him to make him so filled with rage. We get some insight into this in God of War: Ghost of Sparta, which does a wonderful job adding depth to Kratos' character while delivering one of the most fun and beautiful gameplay experiences on the PSP.

Set between God of War and God of War II, Ghost of Sparta picks up right at the end of God of War, with Kratos sitting upon his newly claimed throne looking appropriately grumpy. After all, becoming a god didn't remove the disturbing memories of his past, but now he's being plagued by a vision we've never seen before -- an old woman lying sick on a slab of stone. Convinced he can actually change this vision, Kratos sets off for Atlantis on a quest that eventually takes him back to his home of Sparta and into the realm of Thanatos, god of death.

pro evolution soccer 2011 Psp

Like it or not, yearly "roster update"-style releases are a fact of life in sports gaming. So when a given entry doesn't feel sufficiently improved -- even if it's still an enjoyable experience -- players are likely to be left slightly disappointed. For example, it's not that FIFA 11's a bad game in the least. It's just that it feels incredibly similar to last year's entry ? and not sufficiently different enough, at least from my perspective, to heap glowing, unadulterated praise upon. On the other hand, when a franchise fell as precipitously as Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer at the start of the PS3/360 generation, any improvement's likely to be noticeable. Producer Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka and his team clearly weren't anywhere close to ready for the challenges of Sony's and Microsoft's high-powered hardware four years ago, but they've offered incremental improvements each year -- advancements that have gradually inched the franchise back toward respectability. But, again, since Pro Evo had such a steep hill to climb, it always feels more improved than FIFA -- and Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 is no exception.

metal gear solid peace walker psp

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, a portable addition to the celebrated stealth series, is a rich, fully fledged Metal Gear Solid game with top-notch production values and masses of content, packed onto the PSP. It complements a great-looking stealth-action campaign with a strong co-op offering and bite-sized challenge missions, framed with a neatly presented resource management system in which you establish a private army. The game's many sideshows, ranging from tech development paths to member recruitment and a versus mode, add further value and depth to a commendably well-rounded experience.

Peace Walker is set shortly after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, returning to the 1970s to tuck a characteristically twisty plot into the series' timeline. You play as Big Boss--Snake, to his friends--against the backdrop of the Cold War, with the CIA and KGB covertly meddling in Costa Rica. Snake and his mercenary startup, the Militaires Sans Frontieres, are enlisted to bring peace to the troubled country, which has no military of its own. Naturally, this demands that you sneak and shoot your way through various Central American environments, battling tanks and giant mechs at regular intervals. The plot, which veers between quirky comedy, conspiracy thriller, and military melodrama, is never less than compelling--even poignant towards the end, as Snake ponders the fate of his former mentor, The Boss. It plays out in stylish, animated graphic-novel snippets. Though these artsy cutscenes aren't overly long, you can conveniently pause them or, with the exception of some interactive segments, skip them entirely.
